Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony for Circle East represents a milestone for Downtown Towson.
The project will transform the aging corner at Joppa and York Roads. On the north side of Joppa Road, more than 300 residential luxury apartments will be built; to the south, the old Hutzler’s building will be renovated with new retail space. The Joppa Road corridor will get an important facelift, creating a new street-level presence for both pedestrians and drivers.
I am very excited by this project. Our office held many meetings with leaders from Retail Properties of America over the past two years. I salute their collaborative style and vision for this key area of Downtown Towson.
