During the recent Town Fair, I got several questions about the timing of new developments in Perry Hall.  Many developments take years from the time they are proposed to the time they get built. Several housing projects under construction in Perry Hall were approved before I took office, or based on zoning that was in place before the most recent rezoning cycle:

  • The Reserve At Camp Chapel, 39 single-family homes now under construction at Chapel and Cross Roads, approved by Baltimore County on August 8, 2006.
  • Cowenton North, 48 single-family homes to be built at Cowenton Avenue and Philadelphia Road, approved on August 15, 2006.
  • Cowenton South, 373 condominiums to be built at Cowenton Avenue and Philadelphia Road, approved on July 19, 2007.
  • The Meadows at Honeygo, 63 single-family homes to be built off Gerst Road near Forge Haven Drive, approved on August 15, 2006.
  • Gunpowder Overlook, 48 single-family homes to be built at Belair Road across from Perry Hall Road, introduced as a concept plan on July 5, 2011.
  • Bishops Meadow, 50 single-family homes to be built south of the Perry Hall library on Cross Road, introduced as a concept plan on October 24, 2011.

During the 2012 rezoning cycle, I downzoned more than 410 acres in the Fifth District, including more than 260 acres in the Perry Hall area. These changes will lighten future growth and affect future developments.
