I would like to thank the Republican voters in the Fifth District for their strong support in the primary election.  Now that the primary election is over, voters have a clear choice.

I’m a lifelong resident of northeastern Baltimore County, and for more than three decades, have worked across party lines to improve our schools and neighborhoods.  My involvement began long before I ever ran for public office.

My opponent only recently moved into this area.  She’s a partisan ideologue who cannot point to a single neighborhood project where she has worked with people of different political backgrounds to get anything done.

The County Council is not the Democratic Central Committee.  It’s a legislative body that thrives on consensus-building, not partisanship, and where residents rely on problem-solving that brings people together.

I’m an independent member of the Baltimore County Council, which is why I’ve been endorsed by organizations as diverse as the Fraternal Order of Police, the Teachers Association of Baltimore County, and the Sierra Club.

My priorities are clear for this district:  continue creating more parks and preserving open space, build a new high school, resurface more roads, and thoughtfully plan at places like the C.P. Crane plant, where I have already engaged nearby residents.

I welcome support from people of all backgrounds as we build bipartisan support to move the Fifth District forward.
