Over the past few weeks, the Baltimore County Council passed two pieces of legislation that I believe will greatly improve the attractiveness and functionality of new construction in Perry Hall.
Since 1994, development in northeastern Perry Hall has been governed by the Honeygo Plan and its design regulations. These require certain setbacks and better architecture for new development. It is a main reason why so much stone or brick is used in Honeygo construction, as an example.
With the passage of legislation I sponsored, the Honeygo area will expand farther east of Chapel Road, north on Philadelphia Road to the Great Gunpowder Falls, and south to Honeygo Run and the Cowenton Avenue intersection. This represents the first expansion of the Honeygo area in 20 years.
Since my election to the County Council, I have worked to improve the quality of new development. I believe it is important to insist on better building standards in this part of northeastern Baltimore County.
