The Baltimore County Council recently adopted the Fiscal Year 2014 budget. I supported the budget because it holds the line on taxes and funds capital projects that I have advocated, such as renovations to local schools, intersection improvements at Joppa and Harford Roads, and completion of parks in Perry Hall.
The budget message is a statement of policy by the County Council. The County Council’s budget message includes the following recommendation:
“The Council applauds the forthcoming completion of long-delayed park projects, such as Gough and Asbury Parks in Perry Hall. For these Perry Hall projects, plans should be shared with nearby businesses and homeowners associations, and if there is any funding flexibility, resources should be considered for the completion of the dog park at Honeygo Run Regional Park.”
More than $20,000 has already been raised in private donations for the dog park. I will continue to press for the completion of the dog park and thank the administration for listening to advocates from Perry Hall and beyond.
