Burke Avenue is one of the busiest corridors in Towson. There are a lot of student walkers, as well as more permanent residents in Burkleigh Square, Greenbrier, and Towson Manor Village.
This summer, Baltimore County will complete a major improvement project along this corridor. Contractors will replace curbs and gutters; fill in sidewalk gaps; add crosswalks; and repave the entire stretch between Hillen and York Roads.
I am very pleased with this project and thank the administration for its support. Our office has worked to improve this area for years, starting with upgrades to Hillen Road in 2011. Changes to Burke Avenue were also explored by the task force our office created to improve public safety near York Road.
