Since my election, I have worked very hard to listen to the concerns of Baltimore County’s public employees. Their issues tend not to be partisan or ideological, but relate to fairness and basic working conditions. In 2011, I worked with the Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees to implement the binding arbitration legislation supported by the county’s voters. In 2012, I was the deciding vote to table legislation that would have cut overtime wages for certain employees.
This year, I am very proud to be endorsed by the Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees. The Federation writes, “Councilman Marks, in his 1st term, has been an independent-minded Republican. David has been exceptionally fair and responsive to our public employees. He has cast tough votes that show a true concern for Baltimore County.”
I look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with Baltimore County’s public employees.
