Unions, an extraordinarily rare endorsement for a Republican. In 2012, the president of the Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees, John Ripley, said the following: “Councilman Marks has proven to be an independent-minded Republican, and his openmindedness is greatly appreciated by those in the labor community.”
