I was delighted to attend the groundbreaking for Ridgely Manor Park, the first new park along the Loch Raven Boulevard corridor in a half-century.
The two-acre park will be located on land reclaimed as part of a settlement between the Hess Corporation and adjacent landowners. Eight duplexes were bulldozed, and after a community input process, our office worked with a newly-formed community group to plan for the new park.
The park will be completed by July. NeighborSpace of Baltimore County will own the property, which is located on Yakona Road between Pleasant Plains Road and Loch Raven Boulevard.
I would like to thank the Hess Corporation, NeighborSpace of Baltimore County, and the Ridgely Manor Community Association for working together on this important project, which will be a great asset to the residents along Yakona Road. I would also like to thank Amy Grossi and the staff from the County Executive’s office for helping throughout the process.
Ridgely Manor Park is one of four parks scheduled for completion by early 2015 in the Fifth District.
