This is Teacher Appreciation Week.   Across the Fifth District, we have outstanding educators who work tirelessly to shape our youngest generation of citizens.   I would like to thank our teachers, administrators, and all other personnel in our public and private schools.

Our schools succeed when parents are involved.   That is why I have tried to attend volunteer appreciation events for our PTAs and PTSAs.

On Tuesday, May 7, I stopped by the Volunteer Dinner sponsored by the Perry Hall High School PTSA.  This has been an extraordinarily active year for Perry Hall High School.  While many volunteers deserve thanks, we recognized Kim Forsyth for going the extra mile.  According to the PTSA leaders, Kim was an integral part of nearly every PTSA activity, including the Spring Craft Fair.

Many thanks to Kim Forsyth and the countless other volunteers who make a difference!
