One of my priorities as Baltimore County Councilman has been to improve and support Downtown Perry Hall, the area centered on Belair, Ebenezer, and Joppa Roads. In 2011, the Baltimore County Council passed legislation that created the Perry Hall commercial revitalization district to provide loans, grants, and other benefits in this area. Business owners can learn more here.
Over the next three weeks, the banners along Belair Road will be replaced with new signs that designate the area as “Downtown Perry Hall.” I would like to thank the Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association and the Perry Hall Improvement Association for funding the banners. No government money will be used to purchase the banners. The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company will help erect the new signs.
Later this year, I am hopeful there will be new landscaping in this area. Also, as new buildings are constructed, they will be subject to the Baltimore County Design Review Panel, a body of professional architects and engineers. This is thanks to legislation we passed last year that aims to make development more attractive in the area.
