On October 16, I joined parents, educators, and community leaders at the ribbon-cutting for Honeygo Elementary School, the first new school in Perry Hall in a quarter-century.
It’s also the first of three schools that will open between now and 2021. A second elementary school will open in 2020, and a middle school in 2021. The county budget includes funding to plan for new high schools.
For two decades, I have worked to improve schools and reduce overcrowding in northeastern Baltimore County. We downzoned hundreds of acres in this region to lighten overcrowding, and worked with our elected officials to secure funding for these new schools. Congratulations to all those at today’s ceremony.
