I am happy to announce that $800,000 will be allocated to reconfigure and expand the parking area at Seven Oaks Elementary School in Perry Hall.
Design work will be done in 2014, with construction likely occurring in the summer of 2015. The number of new spaces has not been determined, but the project should lighten some of the parking problems not only at the elementary school, but also the adjacent Seven Oaks Senior Center.
Over the past three years, Seven Oaks Elementary School has benefited from a number of improvements. In 2012, the county created a nine-acre conservation area to protect the woods north of the school. In 2013, the school received air conditioning, and now we are working to address the tight parking that also affects the Seven Oaks Senior Center.
