My colleague Vicki Almond and I have sponsored legislation that bans electronic changeable copy signs along National Scenic Byways in Baltimore County.  A National Scenic Byway is a corridor recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation for having an archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational, or scenic quality.

With this legislation, Councilwoman Almond and I hope to preserve the beauty of what is arguably the most beautiful corridor in metropolitan Baltimore:  North Charles Street.   In Baltimore County, this corridor stretches from the city line to the Baltimore Beltway.   Among other places, it includes the leafy perimeter of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and the Sheppard Pratt Health System.

This corridor deserves special protections so that it can continue to be an asset for residents and business owners alike.
