I am pleased to announce that agreement has been reached with the Idlewylde Community Association on two issues as part of the Comprehensive Zoning Map Process, including one property that had once been proposed for a discount store.
With the support of the Idlewylde Community Association, our office will recommend changing the zoning for four lots in the 6300 block of Sherwood Road from CB to DR 10.5 zoning. The change eliminates the possibility of a discount store and allows for the construction of single-family homes or townhomes. The owner was involved in discussions that led to the agreement.
I will recommend CB zoning for the remainder of the western part of the Idlewylde business district, and BL zoning for the eastern side.
Our office initiated the second issue to address the unoccupied Armacost Nursing Home at 812 Regester Avenue. The site will remain at DR 5.5 as there are offers to renovate or redevelop the site.
I would like to thank the Idlewylde Community Association for working with me on these issues, and I am happy we were able to come up with an alternative use for the site once proposed for a discount store.
