The Fiscal Year 2022 budget provides unprecedented funding for transportation projects. Over the next construction season, highway contractors will be completing some unfinished resurfacing in our district; roads in the Oakleigh Manor and Cromwood-Coventry communities are about finished.

This week, we announced that four miles of Joppa Road will be resurfaced between Mylander Lane and Harford Road. Contractors are currently updating curbs in anticipation of this work. When this project is finished, nearly the entire Joppa Road corridor from Loch Raven to Perry Hall will have been improved since 2019.

Baltimore County has also approved several traffic calming projects, including a new circle on Providence Road near Campus Hills and speed bumps that will be installed on Gerst Road in Perry Hall.

Finally, County Executive Olszewski and I recently announced the routes for Towson’s new transit service, the Loop. This initiative has been a priority for me since I was first elected, and I thank the County Executive for his support for this and other projects.

Transportation is a key responsibility for county government, and I am pleased these initiatives are advancing.
