Several days ago, the Presbyterian Home of Maryland announced plans to close the facility.
The Presbyterian Home of Maryland was founded in 1883 and, in the words of the press release, has operated in its current park-like, 4.5-acre campus since 1929. Once the Bosley Mansion, the imposing structure is an institution in western Towson. By all accounts, the Presbyterian Home of Maryland has been an exemplary neighbor for many years.
Like the many residents who have contacted me, I am gravely concerned about the future of this property. I will support protection for this structure if the Baltimore County Landmarks Preservation Commission acts on the nomination. The Presbyterian Home of Maryland has been a good steward of this historic property, and I hope they would support it being sold to an entity that values the character of western Towson.
