Congratulations to the men and women of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company as we celebrated the opening of the new fire station on Philadelphia Road – a milestone for our community.
The $6 million project occurred because of contributions from the private and public sectors. While the station is no longer in my district, I advocated in 2012 for the donation of land from General Motors at the new site. Councilwoman Cathy Bevins and I were also involved in negotiations that merged this company with the Central Alarmers.
In addition to the White Marsh facility, a new Towson fire station and a renovated Kingsville station have also opened.
Many thanks to all who made today’s event possible, and thanks to all our firefighters and paramedics.
